Blog Post #1: The Beginning of Fuse Design Concepts

People often ask how Fuse Design Concepts came to life, and the truth is—it wasn’t just one thing. It was a mix of moments, jobsite experiences, and a deep pull toward creating a life on my own terms. But if I had to choose the spark that truly ignited this business, it was my daughter.

I reached a point where I knew I needed, and wanted, to be more available for her. I didn’t want her childhood to pass by in the margins of someone else’s schedule, someone else’s rules, someone else’s expectations of how and when I should work. Starting my own business meant freedom—freedom to say yes to my clients, but also freedom to say yes to the people who need me most: my family.

At the same time, I kept seeing something over and over again in the construction world:
good people doing good work, but still missing the mark because communication was missing.
Each trade showed up, did their job, and did it well—but the final result often didn’t reflect the client’s vision. Not because of poor craftsmanship, but because the process lacked connection, clarity, and coordination.

I knew I could fill that gap. And so, Fuse Design Concepts was born.

A Mountain-Made Perspective

Living and working in Silverthorne, Colorado shapes everything I do. Here, life moves at 25 MPH—slow enough to actually see what’s around you, to breathe it in, and to draw inspiration from it.

My design approach is influenced by more than just construction and interiors. My background threads through many different worlds—hairdressing, yoga teaching, retail management, lighting sales. Each one taught me something essential about people, communication, aesthetics, and how environment affects wellbeing.

And then there’s the landscape.
Every single day, I step outside my front door and I’m met with mountains that shift with the seasons, light that moves in a way you can feel, and a lifestyle that keeps us connected to nature in the most grounding way. Skiing, hiking, fishing, floating rivers—these are not hobbies here; they are part of the rhythm of life. They keep us rooted in the earth, in community, and in ourselves.

That connection shows up in my work.
It’s why I care so deeply about lighting that feels natural and intentional.
It’s why I focus on collaboration, communication, and clarity.
It’s why I believe homes should feel both inspiring and deeply grounding.

Design + Communication = A Better Way to Build

Lighting design and interior detailing are just part of what I do. The real work happens in the space between the trades—where coordination matters most. Being the liaison who keeps the big vision intact and the small details aligned is what makes projects flow smoothly and clients feel supported.

When lighting is balanced and communication is strong, the home simply feels right.

Fuse Design Concepts is my way of bringing that harmony to the building process—uniting design, trades, and homeowners with intention and clarity.

This business is my craft, my outlet, and my way of shaping a life that honors both the families I serve and my own.

**Your home should ground you, inspire you, and naturally lift your spirit.

And I’m here to help you create exactly that.**
